How did you first get into music?

I started to learn piano at around 6, and I have been writing songs since then. In high school, I spent most of my free time writing songs and rapping for fun. Even though I didn’t take it seriously back, then, I should’ve known that making music was what I always wanted to do.

What interests or hobbies do you have outside of music?

I love anything art related. It doesn’t matter if it’s dance, a painting, or a poem; I love to consume art and analyze it. My hobbies include video games, movies, basketball, and anime.

What is your creative process when making music?

I always try to express how I’m feeling and try not to overthink my process. I’ll either find a beat I like or make a beat and start freestyling lyrics and melodies until I think I have a concept to work with. Then when I’m comfortable, I start writing using freestyled verses. I feel like it makes my music sound more natural. Then I finish the chorus and the verses and add my background vocals and ad-libs.

What is your main inspiration?

My main inspirations are Childish Gambino, Tobi Lou, Frank Ocean and Lido. I feel like these artists really have pushed me to create a sound that is specific to me.

What are your plans in the coming months?

I plan to release at least 15 singles this year. February 10, I’m dropping my new single, “Be Kiind,” and February 24, I’m dropping another single, “Aladdin.” So I’m very excited about that.

Will you be delving into other genres in the future?

Absolutely; once I’m more established, I will probably try to make more alternative music in the future. But right now, Hip-Hop and R&B have my heart.
