How did you first get into music?
I first got into music heavily in the 7th grade, that’s where I started to really develop a passion for it beyond being a fan. I tried learning a few different instruments but was never able to really get it so I never attempted again until I graduated high school. My friends and I, including my DIRECTOR partner French, started freestyling for something to do and eventually it was the most consistent thing we did. French and I were addicted, and the rest is history.
What is your main inspiration?
My main inspiration is the current wave of “underground” hip-hop that we are starting to see creep it’s way into the mainstream each more everyday, continuously pushing the culture forward instead of backward, with artists such as Roc Marciano, Estee Nack & Al.Divino, and everyone on the Griselda Records roster. It was this wave and sound that made me want to go from freestyling with friends to being an artist with aspirations of being able to help with pushing the culture even further, while still being a guest in it.
What is your proudest achievement so far as an artist?
So far, my proudest achievement has been to be able to expand and work with as well as meet a lot of amazing artists and learn from them as well. I’ve been blessed to have been able to work and make records with artists like Emerson Corleone, Mac-11, A.P. Da Overlord, New Villain, TYRNT, and French, as well as sit and meet with legendary Halifax producer Uncle Fester, another big inspiration of mine who I was lucky enough to learn from.
What are your plans in the coming months?
This year is gonna be the year of DIRECTOR. French and I already have multiple projects finished and ready as well as multiple others currently in the works, both in collaboration with other artists, ourselves, and solo projects. Multiple shows are planned to take place as well as more looks into our GARMENTS by DIRECTOR brand, on top of some other surprises. “Spanish Announce Table” out everywhere 01/27/2023.
